Abstract
The fertilizer port factsheet gives information about a port in San Pedro, Cote d'Ivoire. In terms of infrastructure, the factsheet covers dry bulk berths in South and West Quays. The berth lengths are 155 m (south) and 581 m (west). Access to the mainland is by road, and the competing port is Dakar. The destination countries for transit goods are Mali, Guinea, and Liberia. Maximum bulb carriers are 30,000 t (handy size) and 60,000 t (handy max). There are three storage areas suitable for fertilizer, with a total capacity of 13,800 m2. The warehouse has a maximum capacity of 10 trucks. Over the past five years, the warehouse has handled a total of 40,257 tons of fertilizer. The optimal offloading rate is 5000 t/day. In operations, bulk carrier berthing time is 0 days. Road traffic exiting the port is low, with movements allowed only at night. The average number of rainy days is 260, and the dry bulk handling system is a conveyor belt. The average port charge for fertilizer imports is US $24/t.
