Abstract
This factsheet provides an analysis of fertilizer demand in Côte d'Ivoire, focusing on the seasonal requirements of key crops for the year 2020. The major season, characterized by long rains, includes vital crops such as cotton, cocoa, oil palm, maize, and rice, while the minor season features cassava, millet, sorghum, and additional rice. The report highlights peak fertilizer demand during critical growth phases—sowing, growing, and harvesting. Historical data from 2011 to 2020 reveals trends in fertilizer consumption, with a notable reliance on muriate of potash (MOP) and urea, comprising significant portions of imports and apparent consumption.
