Abstract
This newsletter highlights significant strides made toward transforming the Nigerian horticulture sector through strategic partnerships, educational events, and targeted training programs. Key initiatives include the establishment of a partnership with Tomato Jos to create a sustainable tomato supply chain, hosting a Mega Field Day in Kano State to foster educational and networking opportunities, and celebrating the graduation of agro-dealers who have completed comprehensive training. The newsletter also underscores efforts to strengthen the financial capacity of MSMEs through specialized training in Kano State and facilitating policy advocacy platforms to address sectoral challenges. Additionally, HortiNigeria celebrated International Women’s Day with the HortiVantage program, promoting financial empowerment and social inclusion for women in horticulture. Other notable activities include sector professional training, participation in the Agrofood and Plastprintpack event in Lagos, and ongoing efforts to enhance agro-dealership knowledge and practices. These initiatives collectively aim to bolster the horticulture sector, ensuring sustainable growth and improved livelihoods for stakeholders.
