Abstract
This newsletter features a series of impactful events and initiatives aimed at enhancing the horticulture sector and empowering women in agriculture. Highlights include the Women Empowerment Event, which recognized and supported women farmers in Kano and Kaduna with solar irrigation pumps and cash prizes, fostering productivity and income. Additionally, the Diagnosis and Design (D&D) Workshop promoted agribusiness cluster development in Kaduna and Kano, while the BAGS Project showcased a successful partnership with the Kaduna Ministry of Agriculture, benefiting over 12,000 farmers. HortiNigeria's participation in the SAFE Summit 4.0 and a learning visit to Benin further emphasized its commitment to innovation and collaboration. The newsletter also explores the adoption of seedling trays in modern farming, shares an inspiring story of financial empowerment through microfinance, and highlights the nutritional benefits of various vegetables. Upcoming events for early 2024 are also outlined, reflecting HortiNigeria's ongoing dedication to agricultural advancement and community engagement.
