Abstract
This report provides an overview of various activities and initiatives undertaken by the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC). It highlights the organization's involvement in addressing the critical issue of soil fertility for sustainable food production and environmental conservation. The report discusses IFDC's engagement in Africa, including its role as the Executing Agency for the African Center for Fertilizer Development (ACFD) and collaboration with organizations such as the Egyptian Fertilizer Development Center (EFDC) and the United Nations agencies. Furthermore, the report outlines IFDC's five-year tactical plan, ongoing planning process, and efforts to establish closer working relationships with other international agricultural research centers. Additionally, it presents collaborative research conducted by IFDC and the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) on nitrogen management and environmental sustainability in rice production.
