    Ce rapport fournit un aperçu des statistiques sur les engrais au Burkina Faso de 2017 à 2021, avec un accent sur l'année 2021. L'analyse est basée sur les produits présentant les quantités les plus élevées. Les données commerciales officielles obtenues auprès des douanes du Burkina Faso et validées par le Groupe de travail technique sur les engrais – Burkina Faso (GTTE-BFA) ont été utilisées. Les données de 2021 ont été validées le 31 mai 2022. Le rapport couvre la production, les importations, les origines, les utilisations agricoles et non agricoles, la consommation apparente d'engrais et la consommation réelle d'engrais. Il présente également les principaux participants du GTTE 2022.

    Faits marquants de l’atelier 2024 en Côte d’ivoire du Groupe de Travail Technique sur les Engrais

    L'atelier du Groupe de travail technique (FTWG) 2024 en Côte d'Ivoire, organisé par AfricaFertilizer , a marqué un moment charnière pour les acteurs du secteur des engrais. Organisé le 22 mars 2024, l'atelier visait à valider les statistiques nationales sur les engrais et les données de consommation apparente pour 2023. Les principaux faits saillants comprenaient une augmentation substantielle des importations d'engrais, qui ont augmenté de 78 % à 613 527 tonnes, et une augmentation de 26 % des exportations, atteignant 165 113 tonnes. La consommation apparente a bondi de 92 %, tirée par la reprise de la demande des agriculteurs suite à la baisse des prix internationaux. Les participants ont souligné la nécessité d'améliorer la collecte de données sur les formules d'engrais et ont proposé d'établir un accord de non-divulgation pour faciliter le partage de données entre les entreprises privées.

Held on March 22, 2024, the workshop aimed to validate national fertilizer statistics and apparent consumption data for 2023. Key highlights included a substantial increase in fertilizer imports, which rose by 78% to 613,527 MT, and a 26% rise in exports, reaching 165,113 MT. Apparent consumption surged by 92%, driven by recovery in farmer demand following a decline in international prices. Participants emphasized the need for enhanced data collection on fertilizer formulas and proposed establishing a non-disclosure agreement to facilitate data sharing among private companies.

    Highlights of the Nigeria 2024 Fertilizer Technical Working Group Workshop

    AfricaFertilizer.org (AFO) a program under IFDC in partnership with International Fertilizer Association was established following the Abuja summit 2006. Since its formation, AFO has been working to give insights into the Saharan Africa market by providing accurate and timely information on the fertilizer trade market, prices, and policies. On March 5-6, Nigeria held the first FTWG to validatre the country's 2023 fertilizer statistycs and consumption. The data that will support decision making in both private and public sector was generated and validated by Nigerian fertilizer industry actors under guidance of Africanfertilizer. In the two days meeting, key highlights include increased quantity of NPK fertilizers from 553,639MT in 2022 to 674,863.40 MT in 2023, increase in urea production, and increase in importation and exportation. Key comments in the meeting are exclusion of limestone figures in the validation process, need to strategize to improve fertilizer consumption for increased food production and need for collaboration between the federal government and FEPSAN in order to regulate activities to ensure the industry remains vibrant and grows over time.
