Abstract | This publication highlights the interventions of IFDC in the Assam Agri-Business and Rural Transformation Project (APART) to promote improved nutrient management practices in Assam's rice, vegetables, and mustard crops. The recommended dosages of nutrients for various crops are provided, along with the use of Fertilizer Deep Placement (FDP) briquettes and nano-urea for enhanced nutrient efficiency. For rice cultivation, specific recommendations are given for different rice types, including Sali and Boro crops. The application of NPK briquettes through FDP technology is described in detail, focusing on the placement process during line-transplanted and non-line-transplanted paddy cultivation. Additionally, nano-urea as a foliar spray is suggested to enhance nutrient uptake and crop growth further. In vegetable crops such as tomatoes and brinjals, recommended nutrient dosages are provided for different varieties. Similar to rice, NPK briquettes can be applied through FDP technology during transplanting, accompanied by nano-urea as a foliar spray for improved nutrient utilization. Mustard crop management recommendations include specific nutrient dosages for optimal growth. Application NPK briquettes when sowing, combined with nano-urea foliar sprays, is advised to enhance nutrient uptake and crop productivity. The interventions presented in this publication demonstrate the importance of improved nutrient management practices in Assam's agricultural sector. By adopting FDP technology and utilizing nano-urea, farmers can maximize nutrient efficiency, reduce fertilizer usage, and enhance crop yields. These practices contribute to sustainable crop production, increased profitability, and improved regional food security | |
