AbstractThis report summarizes a project involving four international scientists from different institutions developing a computer simulation model called the AMID model for two tropical root crops: tanier and taro. These crops are considered research-poor by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences. The scientists have collected and processed data from field experiments on these crops, including crop, soil, weather, and management data, to understand the entire system comprehensively. The model is currently in the developmental stage and will be validated in different locations. The simulation model allows scientists to study the crops' production, management practices, environmental factors, soil conditions, and technological factors. Future plans include conducting more experiments in different regions to validate the model's effectiveness.
