Abstract
This factsheet examines fertilizer demand in Mali, focusing on key crops and seasonal variations for 2020. The analysis highlights the peak demand periods for major crops such as irrigated rice, maize, millet, rainfed rice, sorghum, and cotton during the long rains season. It presents detailed data on fertilizer consumption trends from 2011 to 2020, emphasizing the significant reliance on urea, which constituted 43% of total imports, alongside other fertilizers like MAP, DAP, and NPK. The report outlines the distribution of fertilizer consumption across different nutrient types, revealing trends in apparent consumption that reflect the changing agricultural landscape in Mali.
