| Abstract | After developing a business plan and site selection, selecting the type of bulk blending plant is the next step. There are three categories of bulk blending plants: batch-type, continuous, and a combination of both. Batch-type blending plants need to be refilled for every new batch. A continuous-type blending plant needs to blend fertilizer continuously. Batch type produces blends of different recipes, produces batches ranging from 1 to 10 tons, produces at a seed rate of 70 tons per hour or less, can be operated manually or with low-level software, blend cycle time can be adjusted easily, and easily handles unique blend formulas and very complex blends. The continuous type produces blends of the same recipe, produces large volumes at a time, produces a special speed of more than 70 tons per hour, is always on an auto-acting system, and uses high-level software to control materials. Blend cycle times are not easily adjustable, and success relies heavily on constantly feeding raw materials to meet the required production rate. Batch types. When selecting the kind of bulk blending, a few factors should be considered, such as the available budget, the number of bulks that will be produced annually, the types of bulk that will be produced annually, the primary, secondary, and micronutrients required, performance requirements, plant dimensions, the seasons the products are to be provided, the storage of raw materials, loading equipment, and the services of plant suppliers. | |
