Abstract
This material provides an overview of fertilizer statistics in Cote d’Ivoire from 2019 to 2023. The analysis is based on products with the highest quantities. Data was obtained from Ivorian customs and validated by Fertilizer Technical Working Groups (FTWG-CIV). Despite there being no production of fertilizer in Cote d’Ivoire, ELEPHANT VERT produces organic fertilizer and recorded 10,000 MT in 2023. Fertilizer imports increased by 78% in 2023 and are linked to a recovery in demand caused by lower fertilizer prices in 2023. On NPK imports analysis, it was noted that in 2023, 26% of NPK were imported directly to farmers. While analyzing fertilizer origins, Morocco was noted to be the leading supplier of fertilizer in Cote d’Ivoire and accounted for 45% of the imports in 2023. Exports have increased by 26% in 2023, an increase that is attributed to revised strategies. The main export destinations for Cote d’Ivoire were Mali and Burkina Faso.
