AbstractThis study focuses on collecting and compiling fertilizer demand and supply data in Zimbabwe from 2014 to 2018. The study aims to update fertilizer consumption statistics and report on Fertilizer Use by Crop (FUBC) for the specified period. The agricultural sector holds significant importance in the Zimbabwean economy, contributing to GDP, employment, and exports. The research utilizes both secondary and primary data sources. Secondary data is collected from government reports, agricultural bulletins, and industry publications. Primary data is gathered from fertilizer manufacturers and distributors through surveys and interviews. However, challenges exist in accurately apportioning fertilizers to specific crops due to limited data availability and varying product uses. The study provides insights into the agroecological zones, farmer profiles, crop calendars, and Zimbabwe's fertiliser market structure.
