AbstractThis report discusses the emerging technology of compaction in the fertilizer sector. Dr Paul J. Stangel, President and CEO of IFDC, highlighted the importance of compaction in meeting the future needs of developing countries' fertilizer sectors. The report describes a workshop attended by delegates from various countries, where they explored cost-effective methods of producing granular NPK fertilizers using urea as the primary nitrogen source. The workshop included presentations and demonstrations by major international industrial and engineering company representatives. The report also emphasizes the potential of granular NPK fertilizers in providing balanced plant nutrition and reducing environmental impact. It concludes with feedback from workshop participants who found the program valuable in enhancing their knowledge and practical skills related to NPK fertilizer production.
