Abstract | This manual focuses on the role of government and agri-input dealers in combating counterfeit and illegal agricultural inputs. Counterfeit and illegal products, including pesticides and fertilizers, are a global issue that harms farmers, consumers, dealers, and governments. Governments can take key actions, such as enacting legislation, enforcing laws, controlling borders, certifying agro-dealers, and raising awareness. Agri-input dealers also play a crucial role by following the international Code of Conduct, sharing information, implementing safe reporting systems, and providing training to farmers, dealers, and government officials. By collaborating, both parties can significantly reduce the prevalence of counterfeit and illegal agri-inputs and protect agricultural sectors. | |
