Abstract
This research study focuses on the innovative self-assembly of hydrophobic and self-healing bio-nanocomposite-coated controlled release fertilizer. The authors, Shugang Zhang et al., present their findings on this novel fertilizer coating approach, which has potential applications in enhancing fertilizer release control and improving nutrient utilization efficiency in agriculture. Through a combination of advanced techniques such as Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Laser Confocal Scanning Microscopy (LCSM), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX), and X-ray Computed Tomography, the study investigates the structure, composition, and properties of the bio-nanocomposite coating. Additionally, the research assesses void rates and hole diameter distributions, providing valuable insights into the coating's effectiveness. This work bridges the gap between nanotechnology and controlled-release fertilizers, offering promising solutions for sustainable agriculture practices.
