Abstract	Fertilizer bulk blending uses appropriate plants to mix several raw materials of the same particle size, have known nutrient content and are compatible. A detailed business plan containing technical and financial information is required for new operations. To set up a blending operation, a site should be selected, along with the type of plant used for bulk blending and the bulk blending facility. Materials have to be selected for new and existing operations, the blend composition calculated, and formulation compliance checked. For an effective bulk blending process, organizations must compile standard operating procedures that ensure smooth operations, everyone knows what to do, and accidents are avoided.
