Abstract
This report provides an update on the progress and achievements of the Potato Nutrition and Seed Systems Project (PNSP) in Uganda. The project aims to enhance the productivity of small-scale potato producers, strengthen coordination in the potato value chain, and improve dietary diversity in vulnerable groups. The report discusses the status of key objectives, including the increase in productivity, coordination efforts, and dietary diversity enhancement. Challenges, such as the impact of COVID-19 and adverse weather conditions, are highlighted. The document also outlines adjustments to targets, such as a reduction in the percentage of farmers accessing clean seed. The report emphasizes collaborative efforts with various donors and stakeholders to address policy gaps and challenges in the potato sector. Overall, the project is aligned with national development plans, although certain policy ambiguities hinder progress. The achievements, challenges, and proposed adjustments presented in this report contribute valuable insights for the ongoing implementation of the PNSP.
