AbstractRaw materials' chemical and physical compatibility should be checked during bulk fertilizer blending. This is because non-compatible materials can result in insoluble salt, caking, explosions, delayed production, damaged equipment, bad-quality blends, and loss of money. Chemical compatibility measures how stable raw materials are when blended. A fertilizer compatibility chart can be used to check chemical compatibility. Physical compatibility, which aims to avoid the segregation of materials, checks the physical properties of raw materials, e.g., shape, dust content, solubility, bulk density, etc.
