| Abstract | This assessment explores fertilizer distribution and opportunities for developing fertilizer blends in Ethiopia. Key informants, including representatives from various agencies and institutes, were interviewed, and relevant documents were reviewed. Soil mapping conducted by the Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA) and EthioSIS provides detailed soil information for various regions. However, the formulation of available fertilizers in Ethiopia lacks validation and may not accurately address soil deficiencies. The assessment highlights gaps in current fertilizer recommendations, particularly regarding micronutrient content and application rates. Challenges in fertilizer distribution systems and interventions to improve access to quality fertilizers are also discussed. | |
