Abstract
The Register of Fertilizer Manufacturing and Processing Facilities in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), excluding South Africa, is a comprehensive database maintained by AfricaFertilizer.org (AFO). It monitors and maps operational fertilizer manufacturing and processing plants across the region, providing information on nameplate production capacity and upcoming projects. The register includes details obtained through questionnaires and secondary data collection methods. It categorizes plants into manufacturing, processing, and organic facilities, focusing on nitrogen, phosphates, and organic products. The 5th edition covers November 2020 and January 2021, encompassing 17 manufacturing plants, 101 processing plants, and 17 organic fertilizer-producing plants.
