This publication describes the Register of Fertilizer Manufacturing and Processing Facilities in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), excluding South Africa, which monitors and maps operational fertilizer-producing plants and upcoming projects. The register includes information on manufacturing plants that produce fertilizer through chemical reactions, processing plants that formulate final products, and organic plants that derive fertilizers from organic matter. The 5th edition, updated between November 2020 and January 2021, mapped 17 fertilizer manufacturing plants, 101 fertilizer processing plants, and 17 organic fertilizer-producing plants. The register also provides details on operational capacities and upcoming projects.
